transmission slipping on 5kcst?

Hi! I'm a new "older" audi owner - 1986 5ksct auto. Have been getting this
car back to a reliable condition, and thought I was just about there until
today. We all climbed into the car today to go to town, we live about 10
miles out in a rural area in Colorado, within just about 45 seconds after
pulling out of the driveway and getting on the pavement, the car seemed to
slip and I noticed the rpms fluctuated as the car seemed to catch up with
itself, sorry if I'm not making sense, but I'm not even a backyard mechanic,
we decided to take it back home. We checked the atf fluid and it seemed
fine, though I'm hoping that the fuel being at less than a 1/4 tank would
cause this to happen, we usually never let it get that low! It has been
running great, it has just had a tune-up, injectors flushed, ignition switch
and multi function switch repalced and some turbo boost lines replaced, not
to mention the front struts and cv boot last week. Any advice? It has been
running great with no symptons of the transmission acting up. I'm afraid to
drive it to the shop since it's not exactly close by. I will go to gas
station and get additional fuel for it tonight. I love the car and don't
mind putting some money into it since I only paid $300 for it, but then I
don't want to go overboard. Thanks! By the way, love this list! Lots of
good info.
