You know, I's thunking about this as we speak, and that shouldn't even
matter to the issue at hand. the space between the top of the bearing
and the bottom of the cup shaped washer is fixed by the thickness/height
of the funny round nut with two notches and where it sits in the
bearing, right? that space on my car is enough for the strut tower
sheet metal, the stress bar end plate, and then some air for the
required motion.
gotta go out in the cold and look at the other cars i guess... Damn!
it's cold out there!
Anyway, lots of room there on the '85 cgt. Lots of room on the 84
coupe.
And (drum roll please) plenty of room on the 84 4kq.
Any of these cars could have the bar installed without the bar plates
ever touching the cup shaped safety washer thing.
I think on the car that started this (whcih has coilovers? is that an
issue?) something else may be wrong. not to echo in infamous thread of
the long forgotten past...
