Could be pure coincidence that both filaments on the bulbs are starting to
go at the same time.  I had a similair experience with one.  When the
filament breaks slightly, it won't light, but once lit, it forms and mini
arc and stays stuck together.
Take out the bulb and look at it, if the filament looks like its broke, just
replace em
