Yes, it's perfectly true. All those little numbers barely perceptibly cast in the bases of automotive relays are standardized! Who knows - the following list may be helpful in emergencies, although it may not be complete or entirely correct. Beware that relays are often used reversed and the nominal direction of current switching may not be how the relay is actually used:
