<< A tale of woe for a Monday.........

After parallel parking on a narrow downtown street, I opened the driver's
side door and CRASH, an SUV driving too fast and too close clipped my door
and bent it back towards the front quarter panel. Couldn't close the door
but crawled to my body shop. Was advised door shell will have to be
replaced, but interior trim, electricals, etc. would be retained (unless
damaged, and we don't know yet). The door itself didn't sustain much
physical damage (the impact was indirect) but enough to warrant replacement.

Anyone ever replaced a door on a 200q? Any advice, tips, admonitions, etc?

TIA,

Mark

Ahhh! Sorry to hear about this; glad he didn't clip you, as well!

I believe the door assembly is identical to any other 200 or perhaps even 100 using the aero-flush door handles. Perhaps even a V8 door would work.

I'd make sure there was no damage to the hinge area at the A-pillar. Who gets to pay, you or them? If you, try to find a door the same color; might be pretty painless overall.

If him, sounds like new would work...
