I'm glad it wasn't you that the SUV clipped instead of your door.  

My only advice is to go to the best repair place you can because you
may well have "annoyance" issues like wind whistling or water leaking that may
take a long time to resolve fully and the better places might be more
accomodating than the bargain places.
