With all due respect, I tried to *ignore* your other suggestion. :-) Which
is to say I'm hoping it won't come to that.  But it's something I'll keep
in mind.  Unfortunately my rack has shown no signs of leaking (there, you
made me say it!), so I hope this hose job doesn't ever require level of
extra disassembly.  The 1/2" extensions are slowly working their way closer
to the hose fitting. Kneale assures me he used this method on a '91 200, so
I expect things will eventually fall into place. I'll probably need my son,
Marc to come over and help--this approach is definitely a two-man (or one
gorilla) operation.
