Tom: IME, the stock audi wiring works well for a while, but as it ages, even
stock voltage can be too much. The weak point appears to be the headlight
switch connections, and the wiring right at the headlight connectors. Relays
are relatively inexpensive, and if you burn out even one light switch,
they're cheaper.
