[200q20v] summer tires?

Hi guys, I am considering buying Bridgestone Potenza RE 950's for my 91 Avant 
(stock rims). Any BTDT's or recommendations?  I live in Minnesota, with rough 
summer roads and a lot of rain. I do have separate snows.  Can I go a little 
wider without getting taller?
