[200q20v] testing the after run pump?

Is there a way to check the after run pump without
removing it from the car?

If I remove the fusible link and jumper the afterrun
sensor will the pump work without the fan?

I didn't think to check the afterrun pump when I
drained the coolant a few weeks ago now
automotive-munchausen-by-proxy is setting in again and
I feel the need to check.
