[200q20v] gearbox leak - how bad is this going to hurt?

I've got a leak from the gearbox, coming from somewhere on the left (drivers
side).  I've got an appointment to have it looked at, but I'd be interested
in any thoughts folks have on how bad this is going to hurt.  The leak isn't
a gusher by any means but it is produceing enough to coat the left side cat
and produce a driveway oil-slick if the car isn't run for a couple weeks.
