[200q20v] gearbox leak - how bad is this going to hurt?

If inspection indicates that it is a shaft seal, before replacing try adding
a half can of engine oil stop leak to the tranny and the other half to the
rear end. Stops 90% of shaft seal leaks in 1K miles.
