Uh...this little widget thing accompanies many calipers I've seen,
Audi and otherwise.
Also, it wouldn't compensate for pedal pulsing. Pedal pulsing is a
"big" thing; look at the size of that little widget and tell me
that's supposed to counteract that. Nope. It's also way too low a
frequency; the length of the shaft is short, stiffness of the rod is
quite high, and the mass at the end is very small. Ding the widget
with a hammer some time. I guarantee you'll get a "boing", and not a
wooob....wooob....wooob noise akin to pedal pulsation. It probably
counteracts the high frequency ring/squeal you sometimes get when
coming to a stop(very soft, because maybe the widget is doing its
stuff?)
Take it off some time and find out, who knows. I didn't see any
warnings in the Bently about "do not remove wenig widgetsache*
sticking out of caliper!"(of course, you run the risk of disabling
your left brake light and your glovebox while it's off.)
Wow, this is amazing. I can actually post to the v8q list
withou....oh wait, it's not the v8q list...
