[200q20v] A/C woes...

Sort of, ever once in a while (it seems once a month) I'll start up the car
and it will run through all the errors in about a minute (with no beeps
though) before it rests on OK or whatever seems to be lacking (which always
seems to be low wiper fluid).  Is this a month CPU reset?  That's the only
thing I can think of.

So I broke out the bently last night, and ran through the climate control
quick check (although I think "quick" is used liberally).  Turns out that my
compressor wouldn't turn on, and it pointed me to a low-pressure switch that
is in the firewall chamber with the other A/C hoses and the evaporator.  It
told me to jumper the switch and see if that helped, but it didn't, but I am
not sure that I jumpered the switch right.  It is directly attached to the
copper A/C hose that is covered in black gouey stuff (for insulation I
think).  Attached are two wires, one with a small blue stripe, and another
with a big blue stripe.  So I disconnected these guys and jumpered the now
exposed metal contacts of what I think is the switch, and nothing happens,
compressor won't turn on.

Also, I found a break in the wiring, or what may be a break.  In the same
firewall chamber, there are two wires that hang far to the passanger side
(almost next to the fender).  They are attached with a very stiff piece of
metal, almost like a paper clip.  There are two connection points (again if
you imagine a paper clip), but on mine, on of them is broken.  I thought
this might have been a ground that got unattached (the connector is curved
like it would fit around a bolt and under a washer).  Anyway, I am throughly
lost as to what this thing is, and if I should worry about it.  Searching
the bently yeilded nothing, but then again, I was very tired at 11pm.

If any of you have an idea of what I am talking about...

I would guess multifunction sensor rather than low freon. Just got mine
working
a month ago by replacing the sensor. Freon leaks tend to be slow, hard to
imagine
one week cold, next week dead, but, you could have sprung a big leak...

Are you also getting an occasional temperature warning (red water volcano)
on
the status panel that says "OK". That is another MFT sensor indication
