Yea Bob. The 102 I got honks too. Maybe that's why it was superseded by 108.

A couple of weeks ago I replaced my bypass valve with a stock 034 145 710 A
(Bosch p/n 0 280 142 108).  Then when Gary Martin mentioned that Adirondack
had the Sport Q BPVs for $27, p/n 035 145 710 (Bosch p/n 0 280 142 102),  I
figured I would order one to give it a try.  The sport BPV seemed to feel a
bit more responsive (very subjective) but the main thing I noticed is that
it had a tendency to honk at partial throttle around 2700 - 2800 rpm.  I
drove it around that way for a couple of days and nothing changed.  I then
switched back to the stock BPV and the honking went away.

Has anyone else noticed this on the Sport BPV (Bosch 102)?
