Alan, I love stupid humor.  Keep it up, I'll play straight man.

Re:  Dist. drive gear.

I can furnish a sample of the dist with plastic gear.  If someone else does
not volenteer a spare intake cam with gear, I will be able to do so soon,
when I take the cover off of the 7A for my 3Bing project.

As to materials, tell him to use any free machining steel that he likes to
work with.  No post hardning necessary, as it is a very low load
application.  Just needs to be a good fit, small back lash.  I'll forward my
gear specs to you, in case that you did not see them.
