are we talking about the same car and stereo system? you really need to
listen to the one in my 200q20v...
sound spectrum covered? only if you like your frequency response to roll
off well below 2khz--IOW, no treble. tone controls? ineffective. stereo
imaging? what's that--from the driver's seat, the only thing i can hear is
the RF speaker (this was true even before the LR speaker went TU). I can
hear the RR speaker if I set the fader to the rear. Oh--I can hear the LF
speaker loud and clear--in the garage, if the door's open. what's up with
that?

In the last year, the left rear speakers has gone AWOL (thumping popping
started, now unplugged), and the right rear has a dreadful hiss--soon to be
unplugged--heck, the whole system (head unit, 4 speakers) are soon to be
replaced, Audi recall be damned (what? and replace the dreadful system with
a new, dreadful system? fool me once...)

the stock (non-premium) stereo system in my wife's 940 wagon sounds
better. heck--the stock (non-Bose) stereo in my dad's '92 100s sounded
better (till the on-off switch in the volume knob died--replaced it with an
aftermarket head unit--works even better, now).

methinks your trip to the Gorge in George cost you a few inner ear hair
cells...
