[200q20v] Engine cuts out?

I get this behavior after it's been wet and warm out and I haven't driven 
the car for a day or two.  That's the kind of circumstance where if you 
open the hood, you see moisture beading up everywhere on all the 
surfaces.  Hit the go pedal hard and the car jerks violently.  Ease the 
speed up and it just keeps going up.  After thirty minutes of  driving, say 
60, in third gear,  and a couple minutes of Italian tune-up,  it's back to 
normal operation.  I suspect the moisture is affecting the plug wires or 
the distributor cap.
