I disagree. I got mine out without removing the IM. I ground the shear bolt
head off with a dremel tool. Took me quite a long time and was a PITA.
Several listers said they knocked the bolt head off with a chisel.

Usual way - grind off the shear bolt head, take off the cover, undo the
clamp and pull.
