Oh noooo, sudden Pentosin leak ...

Both of my sudden big leaks of Pentosin (one 200q20v, one V8) have involved
the center seals on the pump failing. Both basically emptied the reservoir
in 5-10 miles of driving. Both occurred after long histories of really
gradual leaks.

That said, there ARE two high pressure lines: the one to the rack and the
one to the "bomb". Either can develop significant leaks rapidly, but it's
usually pretty obvious where the oil is coming from when it's a hose source.

When the pump leaks a lot, the pulley/belt movements seem to send the oil
all over the driver side of the engine compartment, making it difficult to
determine the oil source.
