possible vacuum leak question

oh list savants:
i am new to the car [20v avant w/ 56k miles] and i have a slight hunt
at idle and a mpg reading on the display of 12.9.  i am getting better
gas mileage than that.  where does the display get its vacuum input
from?  is this the possible vaccum leak?  TIA
