A time to choose: to UFO or not to UFO

Depending on your preferences and what wheels you have or plan on buying, you
have different options:

1. New UFO rotors, cost around $600/pr., possibly less- talk to Brett Dikeman,
he mentioned something about cheap UFO rotors for much less, but I don't
remember if that ever panned out.

2. Convert to G60s, suffer loss of braking capacity, but cheap rotors, pads
and calipers, cost probably about $1000 to buy strut assemblies from a
converted '90-91 V8 or '92-94 V8 or '92-97 UrS, plus the G60 calipers, rotors,
pads, lines, realignment and suspension shock/spring reassembly, with labor
could top over $2000.

3. 2Bennett has a Porsche/Audi 993tt caliper/S8 rotor setup that will run you
about $2000, I believe this is a permanent change in that you cut off one of
the UFO caliper mounts in order to mount this setup.

4. Mov'it has a setup similar to the 2Bennett setup, I can't remember if it is
permanent or not, will run you closer to $3000.

5. Anderson Motorsport has a reversible setup that uses 996 calipers, S8
rotors and a modified wheel hub, cost is $1600 last year, will cost a lot to
install due to the removal and replacement of the wheel hubs and bearing
replacement.

6. BIRA S2UFO has virtually no takers (I'm one of two people who have the
setup), bolt-on, replaceable, requires some ingenuity as the rotors require
modification by a machine shop, cost around $1200 but will probably cost you
more like $1600 due to the lack of interest by other members who mentioned
interest but never anted up once the brakes were done.

Options 3 and 4 require 16" wheels at a minimum, options 5 and 6 require 17"
wheels at a minimum.

pads, fluid, a 2 year gaurantee, and all labor.   I'm thinking this may be
the best option.  My questions are...is this a reasonable price?  And what
other options are available to me since apparently the current UFO's are
unsafe?  I've heard of G60's being under performing on our cars, and that
there is a system (BIRA?) that uses Porsche-Mercedes components that sounds
great, but what can i expect to pay (System1 or 2)?  Any other ideas or
comments would be very much appreciated.
