Mystery coolant leak

It has been almost a week now of hard driving and it still hasnt leaked
again.
I have 2 gallons of coolant in my trunk.
If the new water pump is bad why would it just leak buckets
intermittingly or if it is just the seal on the pump why would it not
leak again?
It is wierd this time to want something to fail.
Still puzzled and not planning on driving through Death Valley anytime
soon.
