Need CV-Joint Advice

I am in the process of re-booting the front CV joints
and I have come to find a bit of play in one of the
outers, about 1/16".  My question is....should I
replace the whole axle w/rebuilt joints for $75 (by
ACE), or should I use an original joint for $120+?  Is
there a preferred eastern vendor with good prices?
