You can smoke any speaker of any impedance with enough power.  The resistance
value of a speaker is more important to the amplifier's life than it is to
the speaker's.  Most all car amplifiers are stable down to 1 ohm these days
(didn't used to be true), and I'm certain the Bose speakers are not rated at
less than 1 ohm.
