I don't know the secret.  Maybe it's the way it was worn in?  I bought that
car with maybe 140k miles and put maybe 55k on it and it always got really
good mileage, especially if I didn't have my foot in the fuel pump.  A
steady 70 mph on the freeway always gave me 30-32 mpg.  Could tires make a
difference?
