I'd like a bit of clarification- are you saying that you can use both
trays at the same time? How is this done? This doesn't cause problems
with oil pickup?

Sounds like I'd need 3 oilpan gaskets to do that.

As for Brian's original question, one thing you should keep in mind is
that the oil cooler holds oil- my mechanic cautions me against
overfilling
the crankcase. I end up with about 4.75 quarts in an oil change,
including
the filter. I always fill with 4.5 quarts, then run the engine so it
gets
a bit warm, then check the oil level twice, adding enough between checks
to get it in between the marks on the dipstick.
