I recently put in a metal gear distributer on my '91 200 20V. No rattle with
the old cracked plastic gear or the new metal one. FWIW, the cracked gear
did result in a high rpm boost problem. I had a rattle years before due to a
loose timing belt when I purchased the car. A new timing belt back then
fixed the rattle.
