If you are climbing a hill in 4th gear at WOT, does boost go to 1.7,
drop to 1.3, and then cycle back to 1.7 again? If so, sounds exactly
like my problem.

Yes, I noticed this myself.
My money is on the distributor. How hard is this guy to replace? I
know it's tight back there with all the wires and crap, is it just one
bolt holding the distributor in place?
