I think I know exactly what you're talking about...once you turn 'em
off, they don't retract all the way.

The wiper's functions are controlled similar to how a rotary volume
control works, or a rotary encoder...little contacts sweep across
resistive material or conductive tracks.

Problem is that with use, certain areas of the track get crucked up,
stop conducting etc.

Probably what you(and I) are looking at is removing the wiper motor,
disassembly, cleaning of the conductive tracks, clean up the gearing
etc...and throw it all back together.

I'll take a peek in the Bentley to see what removal involves, I might
be able to tackle it today.
