CV boot replacement: stripped inner cv joint bolts

Something that has worked for me in more than one case where the triple
square head was rounded because of some monkey lad reusing a semi-stripped
bold, is to take the next size bit (say 8mm if your bolt is a 6) and hammer
it on the bolt. You'll be able to have your bolt out without needing to
drill nor anything. This even worked for me with the original shocks on my
car, they had already been removed once or twice and the hole for the Allen
key was semi-stripped even before starting to remove them, so after
rounding the hole, I took a drill, enlarged the hole and hammered on a
12-point cylinder head bolt bit. Removal had never been easier because of
the extra grip the 12 points provided instead of the original 6. What works
as well in the case of the inner CVs, is to cut the bolt's head with a
sawzall, pull the CV joint out and then remove the bolts with some good of
vise grip pliers.
