Flashing outside temp lite

My 91 20v 200 occassionally has a flashing outside temp lite on the
climate control.  This has happened a couple of times in the last few
weeks, enough to make me take notice.  This is typically just after a
cold start and seems to go away in a few minutes of driving.

I assume this is a warning of some sort.  Any listers know what the car
is trying to tell me.
