There is plug/patch combination repair that should be done. Requires
dismounting of tire and places an internal surface patch in addition
to a small pug through the puncture. It is said to maintain the speed
rating of tire--I know there are listers who will disdain such a
thing, nevertheless I had this done 2 yrs ago to a single puncture in
one of my Z-rated Firehawk SZ50 tires. The brand of the patch kit was
"Rema"--probably there are others. Cost me $12.50. No problems. I'm
now ready to retire (heh heh) those tires.
