Followup:

JBWeld is holding just fine.  Called the shop and they are taking responsibility
for it no fuss, no muss (Peter and Whitey at Autobon in Cambridge, MA).  They
usually stock the repair kit, but he just used the one he had, so is ordering a
new one for me.

Think I'll have em do a coolant flush and fill while the system is open, and I'm
not sure when the last time it was done.
