Thanks be to Audi gods, I haven't (yet) encountered the broken
radiator-nipple problem, but if I were to attempt using the factory
repair kit, I'd be inclined to replace the old rubber hose at the
same time. If it's a 12 yr-old hose, it's inevitably become a lot
less flexible than new, and an old stiff hose can put extra stress on
that repair area (keeping in mind that the engine is not as
stationary as the radiator).
