3B tranny same as MC-2 tranny?

Yes, final drive == ring and pinion ratio. Actually the 3.89 from the MC
should give the '91 a lower rev/mph than its normal 4.11, all other things
being equal (including the rear diff swapped as well). I think the lower
numerical gears in the 3B may be used to take advantage of the higher
redline of the 20v engine in the 1-4 gears, compare mph/1000rpm in an MC to
be sure.
