damp footwells?

Where i live has been having a monsoon week and my car has been pounded 
with/driven in rain for the past week. I have noticed the front 
footwells are soaked and a VW enthusiast friend of mine mentioned that 
audi's are notorius for having some sort of vents sticking open but 
couldn't tell me how to fix it. Is this the case? and how do I fix it?
