Avant pictogram issues

On my Avant just above the trip computer readout is a pictogram
that displays OK and a whole range of faults. In addition, it
shows radio station info for my factory Delta (Avant only) radio.
Recently, and especially in colder weather, at startup I see only
a K (instead of OK), and when I turn on the radio, I get  an odd
assemblage of blocks and lines. The problem sometimes goes away as
the weather warms.
Any BTDT's out there?
