1.4 bar low boost and recent owner impressions

Hi Kneale,

I don't recall if I specifically tested it.  I think I've tugged on both ends, and maybe something else.

But since the bypass valve is working, I tend to think the hose is holding pressure.  If it wasn't, wouldn't the bypass valve leak under boost, and therefore not make the bypass valve shoosh when I shift?

I can of course check it, or just replace it.

I did have all that stuff off when I first got the car because I was trying to replace the K24 with another I have, because I suspected that all the intake oil was another symptom of a worn turbo, along with the impeller play.  However, when I found that it was more than a quart overfilled, and was having issues gettting the turbo off, I decided to put it back together for now.  I think if the turbo was really bad, I'd be doing the Batmobile or Spy Hunter smokescreen thing under boost.

Anyway, while having all that stuff off, I think I may have sucked on that little hose to see if it leaked.  But I can't rule it out.

I brought a throttle sensor into work with me so I can test it, since they have meters here.

I'll certainly check out that hose closer tho', since others have suggested it, and replacement is cheaper compared to the currently unavailable throttle sensor (Any hints on where to find one if I need one?  SJM, Bimmerparts, GPR, and TPC all don't have any.  Actually, if it turns out back, I'll crack it open and try a resolder repair).
