Phil, that makes perfect sense.  Now I wonder if the BPV that I put in is already faulty.  That would really suck (or is it blow? :-P).  I bought the BPV long ago for my 5kstq, but never got around to installing it.  So I had it "in stock" when I got th 200q20v.  If it is bad, I probably won't replace it with another Bosch, since it will have failed very quickly.

So these plastic Bosch valves are pretty silent when everything's up to par?
