Does your shift lever move when you apply/release throttle? If so, you might
have sagging rear tranny mounts that could cause the hard shifting. Cheap to
change as I recall $40ish.

I lost the 2nd gear synchro in my 1st 200 - had that replaced. Not a cheap
thing, thank goodness for extended warranty
