You don't have to remove the inner joint and shaft, as I recall.  Just the
clip holding the outer joint to the shaft.

Yes, you must pop the ball joint from the bearing housing as well as the
sway bar.  Best to loosen the sway bar to subframe mounting bolts to remove
the bar.  If any dirt has entered the joint, plan on disassembling and
cleaning it before relubing with the grease that comes in the boot kit.
