Last month I asked about the difference between the VW Fox steering
damper 305 425 021 2 and the Audi OEM damper 4AO 425 021.
Ed Kellock replied that he had both side by side and the Audi damper was
much stiffer.
I also got to compare both side by side this week and Ed was right. The
Audi no. is a lot stiffer. The VW damper is easy to push in and outer
Audi damper requires a lot of pessure.
The Audi damper hs gold bushings on each end and the VW has some cheap
looking black bushings.
Also the rubber bushing material on each end is distinctly different.
The VW has some mushy looking materal . The Audi has big fat rubber
factory OEM molded looking bushings.
I will stick with the OEM Boge Made In Germany damper and not use the VW
Made In Brazil one.
