Clutch throwout bearing seems to be going

My case was different.  Flew to FL last fall to pick-up the 200 20v avant w/ 146k miles and TO bearing squealed loud enough to attract passer-by attention.  PO reported squealing started at 141k. Proceeded to drive it to NH, then 800 more miles w/ zero clutch problems.
NEA did the job- reported clutch still had life.
One can only guess how much further it could have been driven before total clutch failure.

I had the same problem last fall at 175k.  Paid a shop $700 to do the labor <br>(included new rack) since they were in their).  Bought a kit from Blau for $300 <br>something.  Bearing was shot, guide sleeve OK, clutch almost down to the <br>rivets.  It was time.  Had a problem shortly after with the clutch master and/or <br>slave cylinder.  I went to the shop while they were working on it.  It was <br>quite a job.<br><br>Fix it before it blows apart! And have the flywheel resurfaced ($40).<br><br>Pete<br>_
