headliner replacement

I had this done about 3-4 years ago. I went to a quality top and
upholstery shop; they do a lot of work for local dealers. We couldn't
find an exact match to OEM, so we used a Mercedes substitute. It is a
little nicer, not as coarse and softer looking. It looks thicker, but no
issues with the sunroof. He also did the C pillars and the hatch area in
the avant so it all looked the same.  I want to say I paid around $500,
but I am doing it from memory. Took 2 days from drop off to pick up. No
problems since.

I've had it done on my 89 200t and recently on my 91. The issue it 
thickness of the material which creates a problem with the sunroof. On 
the 89 no prob. On the 91 I had to spend a lot of time getting the 
small pop-up panel to lie flat. Cost on both was around $400 materials 
and labor. I had it done here in KC at a place called Turners.
