Brandon,
That's one of the potential problems of replacing seals without polishing
the shaft at the same time.  It's just coincidence if the new sealing lip
ends up in the exact axial location on the shaft as was the old one, either
side possibably being incompatable with the new lip.  So there's a slight
chance that a new seal will not improve the situtation.  DFI if IAB!
