If you have an Avant, the one on the roof is, and when it fails you will 
loose AM and distance on FM.  I have replace two in five years, I think water 
eventually gets in and fries it.  I cut one open once and it contained water.  You 
can get one at attenaworld.com pretty cheep, or you can do a little surgery 
on the base and bypass the Amp.  This will get you AM in town only and a little 
better FM.
