heater core question

Hello all. I replaced my heater core last weekend, used a 2x4 across the strut towers with coat hangers around each end of the box, per Chris Miller's site, the box was out in about 5 minutes. I did not need to drain the coolant, thankfully. Get a long Phillips screwdriver, wasn't too hard, took about 5 hours. Anyway, I stupidly (I think) grabbed some rtv clear silicone sealant from my shelf and used it to seal the outlets thru the box. It has been three day's and I still smell silicone when the blower is on. I should have checked the temperature rating, because there was none on the tube. Any BTDT's on if the sealant will stop off gassing? I do not want to pull this thing just to reseal it with a high temp sealant. Ant help would be appreciated.

Greg
