hydraulic problems--R and R in the dark with a dead flash light

finishing a two hundred mile run when about three miles form home the brake 
warning light comes on--so I start to break to pull over and the pedal is 
harder then a rock--I get out of the car grab my flash light and look under 
the hood--my light shines dim but I think I see fluid still in the reservoir

so I hop in hoping to nurse it home--once turned back on the pedal has some 
feel---so I pull out and the steering seems stiff---now I'm home with a 
little bit more light but nowhere enough to diagnose anything more then that 
the pentosin seems to be leaking from somewhere near the front of the engine 
(little puddle behind the belts on engine block and drips on the bottom of 
the engine all the way to the swaybar)

Any guesses and or suggestions of what I'm going to see in the light 
tomorrow a.m.
