Chipped mileage?

I have gotten 25-28 mpg on several long road trips, with high speeds not worrying about gas consumption. It is, after all one of the reasons I have my avant, getting the beast on a lonely Nevada road. Now with snowboards and a head wind it was reduced to about 20 mpg. I put the snowboards and racks inside it went up to about 24 mpg with head wind. No wind and clean roof, 25-28 mpg. I have a hoppen stage 2 chip, rs2 em and turbo, hakka nrw's.
